Abstract :
This paper proposes a multiband multicarrier CDMA system with a simplified receiver structure for downlink transmission. An adaptive algorithm is proposed for allocating multiple subbands for users based on their channel gain and usage. The band allocation algorithm together with adaptive modulation can considerably increase the system capacity. A simplified receiver structure intended to reduce the complexity of channel equalizer-despreader structure of conventional multicarrier CDMA system is also proposed. The combined system is extensively simulated for different channel parameters and the results are discussed.
