Abstract :
Understanding the exact polarization dynamics of a fibre laser is very important for the line width narrowing as well as stabilizing the laser. In general, a fiber laser resonator possesses both linear and circular birefringence. The eigen polarization modes in the birefringent medium are two mutually orthogonal elliptic polarizations. A standing wave solution for a birefringent resonator can be calculated from these polarization eigen modes
