Abstract :
There are different types of biosensors, one of the widely used is amperometric type of biosensor. Amperometric biosensor will function by the generation of a current when a potential is applied between two electrodes. A specific potential ranging between -650 to - 800 mV is applied to the anode of the electrode. A current proportional to the oxygen concentration, which is in turn related to the concentration of the sample, is produced. The analysis of this current (or the voltage) will give the analysis of the sample concentration. The work involves the design of instrumentation system for amperometric biosensor, which includes the design of biasing circuit to generate -650 to -800 mV, current to voltage converter and data acquisition system. The output of biosensor is acquired through data acquisition card and the performance of biosensor has been analyzed by software -BIOBENCH
