  • Abstract
    In this paper, a novel quadrature modulation based complex digital processing (CDP) DS/SS system is proposed which exploits the 2-D complex chaotic Ikeda map (IM) as the spreading sequence. With the proposed system, we can mitigate multiple access interference (MAI) by using complex-valued processing method for the spreading and despreading operations. The performance of the proposed CDP system is evaluated in multiuser environment numerically and analytically under additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh flat fading channel conditions. Simulation results reveal that the proposed CDP DS/SS system with the IM spreading sequence significantly outperforms the conventional Gold code based inphase-quadrature (I-Q) DS/SS system.
