Abstract
A generic fuzzy logic controller (GFLC) is presented. Three methods of interpreting the GFLC output are shown depending on how well the system may be numerically modeled and how fast the process responds to a change in the controller output. Compared to the classic PID method, the control response for a well-modeled, two-gravity-drained-tanks system is superior using the GFLC. Simulated results for a single gravity-drained tank illustrate a non-zero offset interpretation method for systems that may not be well modeled.
