  • Abstract
    A novel multifunction stethoscope system for telemedicine and home-care applications is being developed. By providing functions such as video-conferencing, remote-auscultation, heart sound and lung sound separation, electrocardiogram recording, and automatic pre-diagnosis, the system facilitates doctors in remote patient-monitoring and tele-consultation. Bluetooth wireless communication technology and embedded processor are employed for the device´s mobile and wearable use at home. Preliminary tests show the usefulness and feasibility of the system
