Abstract :
This paper deals with the design of a 25 watts Zero Current Switching Quasi-Resonant Converter (ZCS-QRC) employing the forward topology to be used in a distributed power supply system. The resumed specifications for the protype are: input 48 V±10%, output: 5 V and 5 A, topology: forward ZCS-QRC (full wave mode operation), communication frequency: 500-700 kHz and efficiency: 76 % (worst case conditions). The paper also presents experimental and simulation results obtained with the prototype, as well as the effect of load and input voltage variations in the prototype efficiency and frequency excursions
