  • Abstract
A fractional order PID controller is proposed to position servomechanism control system, which is a basic control problem in motion control. A modified synthesis approximation method is introduced to realize the designed fractional order PID controller. The better robustness performances of the fractional order PID controller are shown by the comparison of fractional order PID controlpsilas experimental time responses with model predictive control. By introducing fractional order control in Simulink design approach, control system can be designed more straightforwardly since control systempsilas frequency responses can be altered continuously. The theoretical analysis and experimental results show that fractional order PID controller can give a more effective way to enhance the system control performance.
