Abstract :
In the paper, a method of designing a pulse compression system with low time sidelobe is proposed. In the method, the impulse response of the pulse compression system is designed according to the desired compressed pulse signal. A pulse compression system with -43 dB sidelobes level and time resolution higher than the Hamming weighted function, is designed. An experiment using Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) dispersive delay line is performed. It is concluded that the theoretical value (-43 dB sidelobes level) is in accordance with the experimental value (-42 dB sidelobes level)
