Abstract :
The modelling and design of a coaxial balun with a balanced-to-unbalanced impedance ratio of 4:1, resulting in a VSWR below 2.0:1 for 4:1 bandwidth, is presented. A modified model is proposed for the coaxial Marchand balun, which takes into account technological discontinuities. The results of simulations are compared with measurement data showing satisfactory agreement between theory and experiment
