Abstract :
A new method is proposed to implement ship´s three dimensional real-time dynamic monitoring based on ArcGIS software platform, that is by means of its animation technology to simulate ship navigation and making use of real-time dynamic information to update the animation. Generation and calculation methods of key frames in an animation track are detailed. Combined with existing monitoring system which based on two dimensional electronic chart, three dimensional real-time dynamic ship monitoring is successfully realized. ArcGIS animation technology provides a good solution to achieve ship´s movement simulation in three-dimensional virtual environment.
