Abstract :
In this paper, we try to build an empirical bridge between Eyring and Kramers-Grote-Hynes theories in putting forward the idea that the vibrational (and possibly the configurational) change of entropy must be included in Kramers equation. These terms are not new and they have already been used to explain some polymer relaxations. In fact, it appears that aging and relaxations have the same compensation temperature. It appears that the configurational change of entropy has many similitudes with the friction parameter in Kramers theory. This is discussed in relation with the aging of various dielectric polymers. A simple procedure to determine empirically the various parameters involved in our electrical aging equation is also proposed.
