Abstract :
The leakage fault diagnosis of pipeline transportation is mainly performed through process history based and knowledge based method. This paper proposes a novel leakage fault detection and diagnosis method, using dynamic simulation to monitor fluid flow process and identify leakage when large flow rate deviations occur. It updates the inner leakage parameters via on-line correction continuously, and predicts the trend of flow and determines the existence of malfunctions simultaneously. Case studies of the proposed method are presented for one simple pipeline and one complex pipeline, and the effect of different factors on result is analysed afterwards.
