  • Abstract
    In the application of semiconductor memory, developing a kind of “voice-book for the blind” for the “reading” of the blind is feasible. In the paper, algorithms that are used for short duration voice, off-line compression, and low complicated decompressing, including ΔM (delta modulation) and VQ (vector quantization), where VQ is paid much more attention focusing on codebook forming algorithms, are simulated in the SUN-Ultral workstation. The results are compared with ADPCM (adaptive differential pulse code modulation)
