Abstract :
It is known that the wavelet has excellent characteristics in time-frequency localization over the traditional SFFT. Starting from the point view of a sonar echo signal, this paper analyses the limitation of the traditional periodical-diagram approach and the advantages of using the wavelet to do the work. Secondly, certain essential conclusions using the wavelet to extract the expected parameters are deduced. Then, based on the TMS320C3X DSP chip, a project scheme is presented which is especially suitable for implementation
