Abstract :
This paper is devoted to the theoretical and experimental study of ground plane effect on the near field and radiation pattern formation with reference to the cylindrical monopole antenna. Based on the FDTD simulations, a contribution of EM fields scattered by the finite antenna elements in the radiation pattern formation has been shown. The features and regularities of the radiation pattern formation are discussed. The dependences of the elevation angle of peak directivity and the main lobe width on the ground plane dimensions have been determined
