  • Abstract
In this paper, we present a new method to build advanced particle system on GPU and the particle system is a state-preserving simulation system. The method processes the birth and death of particles via index on CPU and uses a pair of floating point textures on GPU to store the dynamic attributes of particles. This method also updates the dynamic attributes of particles, handles the collision between particles and other models and renders the system on GPU. We also provide a three-layers hierarchical structure to manage the particle system and batch rendering the particles having the similar attributes. Finally, the experiments prove that our method is feasible and high performance.
