Abstract :
The method of H_/Hinfin optimization is used to detect the power sensor fault under the condition of using various speed wind turbine systems in this paper. This method takes into account the robustness of the fault detection observer against disturbances and sensitivity to faults simultaneously. First in this paper, a physical model of the fundamental drive-system dynamics of a 400 kW horizontal axis variable speed wind turbine is derived. Second, H_/Hinfin optimization algorithm is introduced in brief. Finally, a robust H_/Hinfin fault detection observer is designed on the basis of this kind of wind turbine model and simulation is made. The results show that the designed fault detection observer has high sensitivity to faults and strong robustness to disturbances.
