Abstract :
This paper presents a polarization reconfigurable dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) fed by a compact coplanar waveguide (CPW)-to-slotline feeding structure. The vertical and horizontal polarizations of the DRA are excited by CPW feed and slotline feed, which are switched by two p-i-n diodes. The design strategy is validated by simulations. The -10dB impedance bandwidth of the antenna is 20.4% for vertical polarization, and 18% for horizontal polarization, respectively. The simulated radiation pattern and gain of the proposed antenna are also presented, and key parameters are discussed in this paper as well.
