Abstract :
A novel slow wave structure with low work voltage, high work current, compact structure was proposed by using radial spiral waveguide. The dispersion and transmission character was analyzed by computer simulation, and its work voltage was obtained, which could be as low as several hundred Volts. As the emitter face of cylinder gun larger than ordinary TWT´s, it is possible to produce a high current with low current density. The current could reach 30A while the current density is 100A/cm2. The fabrication is easy as the large size in W-band and above. The good transmission character indicates that the study is valuable.
