Abstract :
A new microstrip transmission line incorporating a photonic bandgap (PBG) structure is proposed. It consists of a periodic array of perforations on the microstrip line itself. By controlling the shape and periodicity of the perforations, the microstrip transmission line exhibits slow-wave and stopband characteristics.
