Abstract
The space dimension is of growing relevance for the EU´s Common Security and Defence Policy, particularly after the coming into force of the Lisbon Treaty. Yet the institutional, operational and financial landscape is marked by a high degree of fragmentation; a lack of political will has so far impeded the emergence of an EU space security strategy.
