Abstract :
A Josephson junction array (JJA) cooled by a 4 K closed cycle refrigerator (CCR) is demonstrated as a primary voltage standard system. The calibration of a Zener voltage reference by this system is shown to have an uncertainty comparable to a liquid helium based system. Such a CCR system will have applications in national metrology labs, as well as in the military and commercial markets.
