Abstract :
When an IP packet travels in the network, the packet header always carries excess information for routing. To improve the efficiency of packet routing and QoS requirement, MPLS technology is put forward. It can be applied to different network environments and the ATM network is just one of them. Due to the features of MPLS, resource management has its own characteristics. There have been proposed many resource management algorithms in ATM networks, considering, which and the properties of MPLS, we suggest some preferable resource management methods that are suitable for this situation by comparing different bandwidth control schemes. The main point of this paper is that we adopt a dynamic allocating/de-allocating source control mechanism, and guarantee traffic on per-VC bases which may bring a better isolation of different streams, and thus decrease the interference between them
