Abstract :
A broadband Voltage controlled oscillation (VCO) is presented in this paper. The VCO is implemented in 0.13μm CMOS technology with 1.2V supply voltage. The circuit allows the VCO to operate at two resonant frequencies with two LC tanks. Simulation shows the low band operates at 2.46~4.2GHz while the high band operates at 4.0~5.4GHz, the proposed VCO output covers frequency band from 2.46GHz to 5.4GHz continuously. The simulated phase noises of high band and low band are -119.8dBc/Hz and -115.9dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset respectively. The total area of layout is 0.65·0.68mm2.
