Statutory and voluntary registration - the impact on clinical/biomedical engineering in Ireland
Abstract :
This paper outlines: the main components of proposed Statutory Registration in Ireland. It presents the framework developed so far for the existing Voluntary Registration scheme for the Clinical/Biomedical Engineering profession including: scope of the registration board; eventual role of the registration board; determination of criteria for registration; creation of a register of persons deemed eligible to practice. Options open to Clinical/Biomedical Engineers are explored.
