Abstract
A minimal state-space system can be obtained in a fairly simple manner from any multi-input-multi-output transfer function. Although many complex ways of accomplishing this are available, the author demonstrates a method simple in concept and very visual in application. Systems with simple poles, complex poles, and repeated poles are considered. Examples are used to illustrate the proposed approach
