Abstract :
This paper discusses the application of a hybrid TIR lens, a nonimaging optics, in photoelectric sensors. The performances and design are evaluated using a commercial nonsequential ray tracing software. The results of the TIR lens in a conceptual thru-beam photoelectric sensor system are compared with the results from a CPC and an imaging optics.
