Abstract
Research of modeling 3D plant image has become a hotspot in some fields. Although many proposed models and methods have strong ability to describing three-dimensional topological structures of a plant, most of them need to be given some rule-parameters. It is considerable difficult to obtain suitable parameters for the special plant modeling. In order to get a high efficiency of creating three-dimensional images of plant, a new method based on the technique of parametric modeling was studied. According to this idea, a new software tool for simulating three-dimensional structures of plant is designed and implemented. The principle of modeling algorithm, the simulation of architectural models, the design of systempsilas modules and the user interfaces, are introduced in detail. Finally, some examples of the systempsilas applications are presented.
