Abstract
The platform rotational motion degrades both detection and estimation performance of passive sonars. Some form of stabilization is required to achieve desirable performance in the presence of such motion. We propose a novel electronic stabilization scheme that improves the performance by mitigating the effect of rotational motion. The proposed scheme compromises between acceptable performance and system (both hardware and software) complexity. The system has been realised using high speed digital signal processors in a closely coupled multiprocessor configuration to meet the computational requirements of the scheme
