Abstract
The LMDS (Local Multi-point Distribution System) is currently a prime technology in broadband wireless communications. The cellular structure, high data rates, and flexibility make it perfect for multimedia, digital television, and interactive services. The high bandwidth multimedia services have received most research attention, but there has been a gap in examining TCP/IP and other data services over LMDS. We examine the ramifications of using TCP/IP over a two-layer LMDS system. This system has been modeled and simulation results are explored.
