  • Abstract
    Yandex.Ru is a unique product for indexing Russian-language resources (sites) on the Web. The search area is the Russian Internet (i.e. "su" and "ru" domains, former USSR domains and Web sites in other domains containing Russian text of any kind). The Russian Web now consists of about 35 thousand servers, with more than 60 Gb of text. The approximate number of online users is about 1.5 million. The Russian Web has two main languages, Russian and English. Yandex.Ru includes a web spider, an HTML parser, and an indexing module. CompTek developed all the algorithms except the Porter algorithm (for English morphology). All the software is produced by CompTek.
