Abstract
Sequential pattern mining algorithms provide better performance for short sequences but are inefficient at mining long sequences. To mine long sequences efficiently mining of closed sequential patterns was proposed. Mining of closed sequential patterns produces more compact result set and it is efficient than mining of sequential patterns. Mining of closed sequential patterns treats all patterns uniformly even though the patterns have different weight. In this paper, we develop a novel algorithm WBIDE by extending the BIDE approach to generate weighted closed sequential patterns. Our proposed approach produces important and less number of weighted closed sequential patterns.
