Abstract :
A semi-analytical method for wave propagation in dielectric structures is proposed. The method is applied to the treatment of the propagation problems in flat and round optical waveguides with non-uniform, linear and nonlinear permittivity and reflections from linear and nonlinear dielectric layers. In this paper we consider the dielectric structures with either linear or nonlinear permittivity
