Abstract :
A simple and novel ultra-wideband (UWB) printed planar monopole antenna with dual band-notched characteristics is proposed in this paper. The two notches are realized by employing two different types of U-shaped SIR defected ground structure (DGS) on the ground plane. The antenna presented has a wide band covering the frequency band from 2.8GHz to 10.6GHz. The two notched bands are located at 3~4GHz (WiMAX) band and 5~6GHz band (WLAN) respectively. A good agreement was achieved between the simulated and the measured results.
