Abstract :
A Ka-band varactor tuned VCO is considered. It consists of a FET master oscillator and a driver amplifier intended for power gain and isolation of the master oscillator and the load. The linear tuning is due to a GaAs hyperabrupt junction varactor diode from the "Skywork" company. The tuning band is more than 1.5 GHz (from 35.5 to 37.2 GHz). Variation of tuning sensitivity is about 50%.
