Abstract :
A Ka-band PLL master oscillator for communication systems is considered. It consists of 12-12.5 GHz frequency synthesizer and multiplier, based on a monolithic IC, AMMC5040. As a result, a master oscillator at 36-37.5 GHz has been developed. The tuning range is about 350 MHz, with a 3.5 MHz step, so that four options of the oscillator are needed to cover the whole frequency band 36-37.5 GHz.
