Abstract
Design of a planar ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with triple band-notched characteristics is presented. A fork-shaped slot of non-uniform width on the ground is employed to create dual notch bands at 3.5 GHz and 8.2 GHz respectively. The gap between the two notch bands can be adjusted by changing the width of a section of the slot. A uniform width slot on the patch is used to generate the 5.5 GHz rejection band. A study on the relation between the width of the slot and the band gap of the dual notch bands created by the non-uniform width slot is performed. The simulation results demonstrate that slots of non-uniform width are effective method to generate multiple notch bands.
