Abstract :
A new design of linear horn array feed dual reflector antenna, which is based on the classical Cassegrain antenna, is proposed for spatial power combining. The feeding array is made up of eight E-plane horns queuing in a line. The main reflector of the new antenna is a parabolic surface cut by a cone. The subreflector is formed by scanning a hyperbola along a parabola orthogonally. The new designed subreflector changes the cylindrical wave, which radiated from the linear array, to a spherical wave. Thus, the new design antenna can combine the power in the desired direction efficiently. The gain of the antenna is 35.4dB, and the half power beam width is 2.5°.
