Abstract :
We propose an all-optical analog-to-digital converter that can extract a binary word from a multilevel optical signal during a single bit interval. This optical circuit is constructed using optical limiters whose transmitted power clamps to a fixed maximum level for inputs exceeding a chosen threshold
