Abstract
This paper presents the design of an integrated 215-225GHz fixed tuned sub-harmonically pumped mixer. The radio frequency (RF) signal passes through the waveguide-to-suspended microstrip probe transition from the standard waveguide WR4 to the suspended microstrip circuit, and the local oscillator (LO) signal passes through from the high-reduced waveguide WR10 to the circuit. The circuit is designed using two MA4E2038 Schotty diodes on the quartz-based substrate with dielectric 3.78, thickness of 0.127mm. When the LO frequency is fixed at 105GHz, the simulated conversion loss is less than 8.2dB from 215GHz to 225GHz.
