Abstract
We report a method of generating a dataflow by inferring relationships among substitutable metadata annotating service interface definitions. Moreover, since many services have abstract input parameters to be mediated, we describe a method of applying the novel inference rule that all the physical parameters can be substituted for those abstract parameters. These methods should solve the problem of discrepancies among service interfaces, which is one of the most important problems for the innovative composite services expected from the convergence of the NGN (next generation network) in telecommunications, web 2.0 for the Internet, and SOA (service oriented architecture) for enterprises. They should also enable end users to design composite services. Through simulation, we evaluated the efficiency of developing composite services including typical web and telecommunication services.
