Abstract :
A general interface for biological signals (GIBS) is presented. This interface provides the communication between an expert system for medical diagnosis, a system for biological signal analysis and the physician who is the user of the global system. The GIBS makes use of graphics and provides the physician with facilities for decision-making with the diagnostic expert system. The GIBS accepts electrocardiogram (ECG) signals directly from a digital electrocardiographer, parameter values from an ECG analysis subsystem, and, in coordination with the expert system, interacts with the user to provide the consulting services
