Abstract :
Recently, attention has been paid to the creation of new generator and amplifier modifications which use diffraction (Smith-Purcell) and Cerencov radiations. In particular, an amplifier model based on a two-mirror open waveguide (OW) stimulated by diffraction volume wave radiation was investigated (Vorobjov, G.S., et al., 1998; 2001). The paper describes theoretical and experimental investigations of an amplifier electrodynamics system, which consists of a periodic structure and metal-dielectric layers and is based on the Smith-Purcell effect.
