Abstract :
An efficient algorithm for water fat separation on low field MRI is presented in this paper. Based on the DIXON algorithm, in phase and opposed phase images are acquired by spin echo (SE) sequence. From these images the water only and fat only images can be extracted by the chemical shift principle .The algorithm is region growing based. The modification is proposed on how to process background noises. The pixels of background noises are push into an additional stack which has the lowest priority so as to get a more robust performance. Experiments on low field system show good results.
