Abstract :
We have developed an infrared radiation thermometer using a silver halides optical fiber and infrared optical devices such as a collimator and a focus head. An infrared radiation from a heat source is collimated and transferred by a silver halides infrared optical fiber. A focus head is used to concentrate an infrared radiation to an infrared sensor such as a thermopile. The relationships between the temperature of a heat source and the output voltage of the thermopile are determined to measure the surface temperature of a heat source. It is expected that a noncontact thermometer using an infrared optical fiber can be developed for medical and industrial usages based on the results of this study.
