  • Abstract
    Helix slow-wave structure (SWS) for Ka-band space traveling-wave tube (TWT) has been designed to achieve the desired output power 40W. The cold test characteristics of helix SWS, such as dispersion and impedance, were analyzed. The beam-wave interaction has also been simulated. The results from the experimental tube show that the output power is more than 40W with less than 2% distortion of gain in working frequency range.
