Abstract
Synchronous direct sequence code division multiple access (DS CDMA) with binary linear block coding over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel is considered. It is shown that different users should use different error correcting codes in order to achieve an asymptotically better bit error performance. Rules how to construct the codes are given based on an asymptotically tight upper bound for the bit error rate
