Abstract :
Experimental results carried out recently are reported demonstrating Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) optical scattering communication path loss. The channel transmission characteristics are obtained, including the predicted path loss and spacetime impulse response, and experimental data are compared with them; It is shown that the pulse width of broading is about 0.24 microseconds under given communication configurations. Field tests results show that the received power can be obtained in a wide scope of elevation angles when there are clouds existing in the communication link, however, if there is no clouds, the elevation angle should be smaller than 5 degree and can be changed in a small scope relatively. A NLOS atmospheric scattering optical communication link has been set up on the range of 11.7 km, and voice transmission was accomplished successfully on the rate of 10 kbps. These results are wavelength-dependent, 808 nm is chosen as the wavelength of simulations and experiments.
