Abstract :
Focuses on the transaction management and atomic commitment features of HYDRO, a distributed multidatabase system. HYDRO provides global serializability, deadlock and livelock freedom, multiple concurrent global transactions at any site, and a high level of concurrency control parallelism. Two varieties of local HYDRO concurrency control objects are discussed, and the paper concludes with a brief presentation of the HYDRO atomic commitment scheme
